osCommerce Online Merchant is a complete online store solution that contains both a catalog frontend and an administration tool backend which can be easily installed and configured over a web-based installation procedure. Vertax Technology has developed well defined osCommerce applications for various clients across the US and UK that covers all the functionalities requested by the customer / based on business needs. osCommerce also known as ‘Open Source Commerce’ was started in Germany in March 2000.The project founder and leader Harald Ponce de Leon was still working on its development. The Latest release 2.2 RC 2a was considered to be stable and the planned Milestone 3.0 version will be a major re-write of the program to incorporate an object-oriented backend.
